Because PETA wasn’t Slightly Insane Already

tinyurl.com/5y93sb

Look, peeps. I’m all for the ethical treatment of animals. I know I said I beat my dog once in these here pages but lets face it, my dog lives like a king. He hasn’t worked a day in his life. He gets decent food served up to him at will. I got him a girlfriend. He sleeps all day. It’s temperature controlled in the casa. This doggie’s not complainin’.

But the folks involved in PETA have always had a screw loose. See, my dog is not a human. He is my property. He has no soul. When my dog gets sick, I say “we’ll wait it out”. Sore on his leg? He’s a dog. He’ll get over it. My dog got hit by a huge truck once. I gasped in fear but he got up and ran home. When I arrived just minutes after he did I immediately began calling him names for running away. (I later begrudgingly took him to the Vet. See, I’m a great pet owner.) My guess is that the vast majority of people who support PETA (unequivocally, that is–not just a little bit like I do vis a vis my first paragraph) don’t have children. ‘Cause once you have kids, you realize how animal-like your animals are, even if you thought they were your “kids” before. Because animals aren’t humans. They’re animals. And we know the difference because if we applied the same standards we have for dealing with our pets to our kids we’d all be abusive parents.

“What’s that Jimmy? You’ve got a sore throat? Suck it up. I made it and so can you.”

“Is that an open wound on your leg little Sally? Deal with it you woos.”

It’s not even worth mentioning what I would do if one of my kids got hit by a car, even if it was just a slight brush like happened with my dog. I’d scream in fear and run after my child and cry like crazy. Once I found out they were okay, then I’d pull the driver out of the car and beat him or her senseless.

So when I read the following, I realized that PETA has officially crossed the line from “quirky” to “insane”:

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is asking the ice cream maker to begin using breast milk in its products instead of cow’s milk, saying it would reduce the suffering of cows and calves and give ice cream lovers a healthier product.

Go ahead and read the full article here.

So the idea here is that for thousands of years we, as a society, have been enjoying the milk of beasts but thankfully for us, in the year 2008, PETA has finally opened our eyes to how cruel it is that we would milk a cow. (Which of course is completely absurd in and of itself. I’ve watched the Discovery Channel & Animal Planet. It doesn’t hurt the cow. In fact, modern pumping systems are like cow massages, and they get an udder cleaning before and after. It’s quite advanced.) So rather than be cruel to cows, PETA has proposed a new solution: lets strap women up to the machines instead.

I wonder how a breast-feeding mother would respond if you stopped her in the mall and asked if you could grab a pint to take home with you so you could mix up some home-made ice cream?

I’m guessing that the same people supporting the Feminist Movement are not also on the board of PETA. I’m pretty sure as a Feminist you couldn’t support a motion to replace cows with breast-feeding women. I mean, pregnancy-fat jokes aside, this is just horrific in any number of ways.

So thank you, PETA, for proving what we already suspected: that you are, in fact, insane.

Badger. I don't need to add anything to this, in your own defence you condemn yourself.
in criticizing PETA you demonstrate how horrible of a human being you are. Anyone reading your "testimonial" below and the honesty with which you don't even realize how much of a piece of shit you are, will think twice about alligning themselves with you in your hatred of PETA.

You are proud to let your dog suffer and claim to be a good "pet owner" for bringing him to the vet when he is close to death.
and now you add to that the prejudice that no peta member have children.
Plus your hatred of feminism too!

wow! you made my day! it's like Hitler speaking out against one's group, you can't BUY that kind of good publicity :-)

if it's insane to not let your dog (who is under your care) suffer when he is in pain. Then I am insane.
If it is insane to think that feminism is an important cause to support. Then I am insane.
If it is insane to realize that a living breathing dog is not "property" like a chair. Then I am insane.

and this wonderful thought-provoking asshole whose words you appropriate for yourself believes that it is normal to treat one's dog in that way (to let him "suck it up" when he has an open wound) and to only begrudgingly take him to the vet when he is hit by a truck???

It's not even a PETA issue anymore, I know very few responsible "pet owners" who would behave in that way. And very few well-meaning people who would agree with you or your friend.

    :-)

plus you and him are both so fucking stupid that you don't even GET the campaign. Obviously PETA doesn't want to strap human women to milking machines, any moron would realize that, it is to make a point...
    about health
    and about cruelty

Badger, ;-) keep speaking out against PETA. in fact I wish you were here in Toronto, I could invite you to all my demos, and ask you to do your own counter-demo, because you are such a fuckface that to have you speaking out against PETA can only help us make others realize how stupid the anti-PETA stance is

    ;-)

Agian, Badgers comment here says all I need to know from him on the topic at hand and his credentials to be here discussing kindness to animals:

Class act, and he's your cheerleader here Mickey. Do you agree with his sentiment as posted in the link above?

Both of you are one hell of a team. I'm really going to listen to a single word you say here.

Mickey. Again I have answered your question at least 4 times already, the only problem is that you don't like my answer. You are like a child.
you know when bart and lisa ask their dad "can we go to *** Dad?" over and over until he says yes.

I answered your question and others did too. WE DO NOT AGREE WITH YOU.

OBVIOUSLY SINCE THIS IS A PETA TRIBE.

and until you get the answer that you want, you keep claiming that I am "refusing" to answer your question.

              you're such a little shit!

I feel that animal rights can best be achieved by ...well, working at achieving animal rights. (duh)

you maintain that to achieve animal rights we need to help humans first... and if we disagree with you, you jump to the conclusion that we don't want to help humans.

              what???

I and many others have said to you even in your original thread on this topic that Habitat for humanity and anyi-bullying programs are wonderful, but they have nothing to do with animal rights.

Re: How to be your animal's best friend

              Tue, October 7, 2008 - 4:39 PM
              www.helpinganimals.com/animal...end.asp

Make a pact with your animals right now to spend a little time each day giving them one-on-one tender loving care. They depend on you to take them for walks, to brush them, to give them biscuits or catnip, and, most importantly, to keep them safe. Caring responsibly for your best friend can help make relations with neighbors pleasant as well. Folks who allow Fido to howl all day or let Fluffy dig up the garden next door are putting their animals at very real risk of being harmed by angry neighbors. Start with these essentials to keep your best friend happy and safe.

Spay or neuter your animal to prevent cancers of the reproductive organs, the spread of many infectious diseases, and the suffering of unwanted puppies and kittens.

Give your animal friend proper identification with a tattoo and/or a microchip and tags-bearing your name, address, and phone number—in case he or she does become lost. Many lost animals taken to shelters have to be euthanized because shelter workers don’t have a way to contact their guardians.

Follow local and state public health, animal control, and animal cruelty laws, and be sure that your animals have all required licenses and vaccinations. Pick up waste and dispose of it regularly and properly to eliminate odor.

Cats and dogs are safest and happiest spending most of their time indoors with you. Even enclosed in a “secure” fence, neither dogs nor cats should be left alone for longer than a few minutes, and dogs should never be tethered or chained. Thieves, or "bunchers," make a living cruising neighborhoods for friendly dogs and cats they can sell to dealers, who in turn sell them to laboratories. Keeping animals indoors is especially important in the summer, when dogs often die tragic, preventable deaths because of a lack of protection from the heat, and in winter, when dogs, cats, and other animals can suffer from frostbite, exposure, and dehydration.

Solve barking and other behavioral problems humanely and effectively.

Itching and biting and chasing their tails in frustration are no fun for dogs. Preventing fleas is fundamental to their comfort.

If you want to sever your last link with the slaughterhouse, it is possible to feed dogs and cats meatless meals.

Designate alternate caretakers for your animals in the event of illness or death.

indeed, animals are not humans, humans are in fact animals!

Yes, but statistically speaking, addressing "human" problems simultaneously improves the lives of "animals." Why not address two problems with one check?

Ghandi's quote ("The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.") says to me that it is incumbent on us to take care of our people so that there is more capacity and overall better knowledge to care for animals. But the humans do come first. It would seem the stats are on target with this sentiment.
